Jamia Millia Islamia Vice-Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar met Najma Heptulla in New Delhi to discuss preparations for the university convocation planned for October/November 2019.
They discussed inviting Ram Nath Kovind as the chief guest for the convocation ceremony.
Prof. Akhtar also briefed the Chancellor about her meetings with the President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding university development initiatives.
She requested central support for JMI’s upcoming centenary celebrations and sought assistance for establishing a medical college-cum-hospital at the university.
The discussion also covered academic activities, admissions, examinations, and plans for centenary events.
Najma Heptulla expressed satisfaction over JMI’s improving academic and research performance and proposed involving JMI faculty and students in conferences being organized in Manipur.
