
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) today celebrated Constitution Day on the occasion of 72nd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India.Prof. Tasneem Fatma, Pro-Vice Chancellor, JMI read the Preamble to the Constitution in English and Dr. Nazim Husain Jafri, Registrar, JMI read the Preamble to the Constitution in Hindi which was followed by teachers, officers and other staff members of the university.
The function was organised at the lawns of V.C. Office, JMI, under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, coordinated by Prof. Mohd. Muslim Khan, Head, Department of Political Science, JMI.The Office of the Chief Proctor organised a special lecture on “ Fundamental Ideals of the Indian Constitution” delivered by Dr. Mohd. Asad Malik, Faculty of Law, JMI. Dr. Nazim Husain Jafri, Registrar, JMI was the Chief Guest of the program. Prof. Ibraheem , Dean, Faculty of engineering & Technology, JMI was the Guest of Honour and presided over by Prof. Waseem A. Khan, Chief Proctor. The lecture was attended by the teachers, non-teaching staff and security staff of the university.
Teachers and non-teaching staff members read out the Preamble of the Constitution at different departments of the university also.A number of activities were also conducted virtually by Mushir Fatima Nursery School, JMI, to create awareness among the kids regarding the Indian Constitution.
