Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School (JGSSS) at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised its Annual Sports Day for 2024-25 in two phases on December 26 & 30, 2024. During the sports meet, students showcased a variety of energetic and lively sports events, including the School Drill, Aerobics, Gymnastics, and track events such as the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m races, and the 400m Relay. Other events included Long Jump, Shot Put, and Musical Chair. The audience was mesmerised by the vibrant performances.
The Sports Meet was honoured by the presence of the distinguished Chief Guest, Prof. Iqtidar Mohd. Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Languages, along with Guests of Honour, Prof. Jessy Abraham, Head of the Department of Teacher Training and Non-Formal Education (IASE) and Prof. Naheed Zahoor, also from IASE. The heads of all schools run by JMI were also present during the event.
The event commenced with an inspiring speech by the principal of JGSSS, Mrs Anjum Iqbal, setting an uplifting and positive tone for the day. Following this, the torch-bearing ceremony added a sense of tradition and excitement. The school’s playground buzzed with energy, passion, and enthusiasm, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere.
The Chief Guest and other dignitaries presented medals and certificates to the winners of the various sports events. The event concluded with a sense of excitement and achievement, creating memories that everyone will cherish for years to come.
