As part of the first phase of Census 2027, the District Collector of Jaipur, Sandesh Nayak, on Monday completed his own self-enumeration online and appealed to citizens to actively participate in the nationwide exercise.
Demonstrating the process at the Collectorate, he used the official Self Enumeration Portal via smartphone, stating that the system is simple, secure, and time-efficient, and can be completed within minutes.
How the Self-Enumeration Process Works
Citizens can complete their census registration online through the following steps:
- Log in to the portal and enter basic details
- Register the household by providing the head of family’s name and mobile number
- Verify via OTP authentication
- Select preferred language
- Enter location details (district, locality, landmark) and mark the house on the map
- Fill in household and family information
- Review and submit the form
Upon submission, users receive an 11-digit SE ID, which must be محفوظ for future verification.
What Information is Required?
The process includes answering 33 structured questions, covering:
- Housing condition and ownership
- Number of family members
- Access to water, electricity, sanitation, and kitchen facilities
- Internet access and vehicle ownership
