Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that all investors are heartily welcomed on the sacred land of Madhya Pradesh. The state government is committed to providing full support to investors — not only by offering benefits under its investment schemes but also by assisting in establishing their units and factories. Dr. Yadav was addressing investors at Samatva Bhavan, Chief Minister’s Residence, on Wednesday.
A delegation from Topan Specialty Films Pvt. Ltd. (a company acquired by a Japanese group) met the Chief Minister under the leadership of Principal Secretary, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Mr. Raghvendra Kumar Singh. The company, headquartered in Japan and Punjab, plans to set up a BOPP and CPT film manufacturing unit with an annual capacity of around 71,200 tons in Sector-7 of the Pithampur Industrial Area in Dhar district, with an investment of about ₹950 crore. This will be a 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
During the meeting, company officials discussed in detail the progress and procedures related to the proposed investment with the Chief Minister. The delegation included Mr. Amit Jain (CFO & Whole-Time Director), Mr. Ritesh Tirkha (Commercial Head), Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki (Managing Executive Director), Mr. Tasuku Sena (General Manager), Mr. Tomohiro Koma (Sector Staff), and Mr. Toshiyuki Maki (Technical Advisor), among others.
Demonstrating their commitment to investing in Madhya Pradesh, company officials shared that this is Topan’s first investment in the state. They expressed their intent to take full advantage of the benefits offered under Madhya Pradesh’s Investment Promotion Policy.
Topan officials informed that the group was originally established in 1988 as an Indian company, later acquired by a Japanese conglomerate. The company primarily manufactures packaging films, label films, and graphic lamination films. Its Punjab-based manufacturing facility is spread across approximately 45 acres.
The group’s global turnover stands at ₹1.25 lakh crore (USD 14 billion), with its India turnover at ₹1,500 crore. Currently, the company operates a single-location plant in Punjab, while for its upcoming unit in Madhya Pradesh, 14 hectares of land have been identified in Sector-7 of Pithampur Industrial Area, which company representatives have already preliminarily inspected.
