India Records Highest Single-Day COVID-19 Recoveries: 56,110
India has reported a record 56,110 single-day COVID-19 recoveries in the last 24 hours, a result of the effective implementation of containment strategies, aggressive and widespread testing, and standardized clinical management under a holistic Standard of Care approach.
The coordinated efforts of the Central and State/UT governments have led to a steady rise in average daily recoveries. While the daily average of recovered cases stood at 15,000 in the first week of July, it has surged to over 50,000 in the first week of August.
As more patients recover and are discharged from hospitals or home isolation (for mild and moderate cases), total recoveries have crossed the 16 lakh mark, reaching 16,39,599. The national Recovery Rate has climbed to 70.38%.
Currently, the active caseload of 6,43,948 accounts for just 27.64% of the total positive cases. These patients are under active medical supervision. The consistent rise in recoveries has created a significant gap between recovered and active cases—nearing 10 lakh.
Focused efforts on enhanced hospital treatment, the use of non-invasive support, and improved ambulance coordination have ensured efficient patient management. As a result, India’s Case Fatality Rate (CFR) remains low at 1.98%, below the global average.
India’s Test, Track, Treat strategy continues to show results. In the past 24 hours alone, 7,33,449 tests were conducted, pushing cumulative testing beyond 2.6 crore. The tests per million (TPM) now stand at 18,852.
