Raipur: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur has launched a two-year Executive MBA in Energy Management in collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), marking a significant step in strengthening sector-focused executive education in India. The hybrid programme is exclusively designed for HPCL professionals and aims to develop future-ready leaders for the rapidly evolving energy sector.
The programme combines core management disciplines with specialised learning in energy economics, sustainability, energy transition, policy and regulation, and emerging technologies. It will be delivered through a blended format, integrating on-campus immersion modules with live online sessions to ensure academic rigour while accommodating the professional commitments of working executives.
The launch event was held in the presence of the Chief Guest, Balaji Malepati, Additional General Manager, NTPC Green Energy Limited, who underscored the growing importance of leadership and strategic capability in navigating India’s energy transition and sustainability goals.
Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-Charge, IIM Raipur, highlighted that the programme is designed with a strong emphasis on industry-engaged learning. He noted that the initiative reflects the institute’s commitment to developing leaders who can address complex challenges in critical sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and sustainability.
