IIHMR University successfully concluded a three-day Management Development Programme (MDP) on “Data Analytics and Business Intelligence” for professionals from World Health Organization – South-East Asia Regional Office (WHO-SEARO).
A total of 19 WHO-SEARO professionals participated in the programme, engaging in experiential learning, case discussions, and hands-on exercises aimed at enhancing the integration of data analytics in health decision-making processes.
Dr. PR Sodani, President, IIHMR University, shared, “Today, the healthcare sector is witnessing an unprecedented surge in data from disease surveillance and digital health records to community-level health indicators. The ability to transform this data into meaningful insights is no longer optional; it is essential for timely decision-making, preparedness, and effective public health response. We recognise this critical global need. By empowering public health leaders with these competencies, we aim to support stronger health systems, more precise interventions, and improved health outcomes across the region.”
Designed to strengthen data-driven decision-making in public health, the programme featured discussions on Fundamentals of Business Intelligence (BI), Integrating BI into Organisational Strategy, Data Visualization and Dashboard Creation, Power BI for Decision-Making, Data Analytics Concepts and Techniques, Excel-based Data Analysis Tools, Data Manipulation Techniques: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Index Match, Macros and Automation in Excel, Predictive Analysis using Generative AI, and Group Work and Practical Presentations.
The programme was facilitated by distinguished IIHMR faculty members, including Dr. Ritu Vashistha, Dr. Purnendu Shekhar Pandey, and Dr. Swapnil Gadhave, who brought a blend of academic expertise and hands-on experience to the sessions.
