Ambikapur, March 16:
Preparations have begun for the first phase of Census of India 2027, which will start with house listing and housing enumeration from May 1 to May 30, 2026 across the state.
In this regard, a training session for officials and employees was organised at the district collectorate in Ambikapur on Monday. The programme provided detailed guidance on the census framework, legal provisions, use of digital tools and data management processes involved in the exercise.
Training for enumeration work
Officials explained the procedures for the first phase of the census, which focuses on compiling data related to housing structures and household facilities. The training aimed to ensure that enumerators and supervisory staff are well-prepared to carry out the data collection process efficiently.
Officials present
The session was attended by several district officials, including Sunil Nayak, Additional Collector, and D N Kashyap, Municipal Corporation Commissioner. Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), revenue officials and other departmental staff also participated in the training.
Officials said the training will help ensure accurate data collection and effective use of digital technologies during the census process, which plays a crucial role in planning and policy formulation.
