Taking a giant leap in its endeavour to support the community by facilitating training to the economically weaker youth of the society with the intention to train them for their livelihood and committing to develop a sustainable society, Honda India Foundation (HIF), today completed first batch of GDA training under its flagship program Project Pragati (One Step towards Growth) in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking on HIF's commitment towards building a relationship of trust with community to contribute to developing a sustainable society, Mr. Vinay Dhingra, Trustee, Honda India Foundation said, "Education & Rural Development continue to remain key pillars in our long-term mission of becoming a 'Company that Society wants to Exist'. Currently, in India, there is a shortfall of trained General Duty Assistants (GDA) in hospitals. Considering this, HIF has taken this initiative to train the economically weaker youth and started this course under project Pragati (One Step towards Growth). The valediction of first training batch of GDA in Agra today marks yet another step towards transforming citizens into responsible citizen who will be self-dependent now onwards. Honda's corporate philosophy is founded on the fundamental principles of "Respect for the Individual" and the "Three Joys," to support Honda's universal passion: to improve the quality of people's daily lives."
The valedictory event of the GDA program was conducted at Ujala Cygnus Rainbow hospital in Agra wherein a certificate of completion of training handed over to 48 trainees. All the trainees have been given employment by the same hospital.
The training was facilitated by trained staff of the hospital. This program under Project Pragati is set to expand nationwide, encompassing 60 locations, as part of Honda India Foundation's ongoing commitment to empower the youth.
