New Delhi, June 22: Haryana’s Hansi station is set to strengthen its position as a key railway hub following Indian Railways’ approval of additional stoppages for two long-distance express trains — the Agartala–Firozpur Express and the Bikaner–Haridwar Express.
The newly approved halts for Train Nos. 14619/14620 and 14717/14718 are expected to provide improved travel options for passengers across Hansi and surrounding districts. Railway authorities said the decision was taken after evaluating passenger demand and operational feasibility.
Located on the Bhiwani–Hisar section, Hansi already serves as an important passenger centre, handling eight pairs of Mail and Express trains, seven pairs of Passenger trains, and two pairs of Special trains. The addition of two more express services is expected to further enhance the station’s connectivity footprint.
Previously, passengers wishing to board these trains were required to travel to Hisar or Bhiwani City stations, located approximately 25 km and 37 km away, respectively. The new halts are expected to save time and reduce travel costs for thousands of passengers.
Railway analysts believe improved rail connectivity can stimulate local economic activity, support tourism, and enhance access to employment opportunities. The direct connectivity offered by the Agartala–Firozpur Express and Bikaner–Haridwar Express will also strengthen links between Haryana and major destinations across northern, eastern, and western India.
The decision aligns with Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and ensure that growing urban centres receive adequate transportation infrastructure. By expanding long-distance travel options from Hansi, Railways is addressing a long-standing demand from residents while reinforcing the town’s importance in the regional transport network.
