New Delhi, March 24:
Indian stock markets are likely to open on a weak note on Monday, as early indicators point to selling pressure. The GIFT Nifty was trading lower by 324 points (-1.40%) at 22,891, suggesting a negative start for benchmark indices.
Despite a strong closing on Wall Street, sentiment remains cautious. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 631 points (+1.38%) in the previous session. However, weakness in Dow Futures and slight declines in the S&P 500 futures indicate that global momentum may be losing steam.
Asian markets, on the other hand, are showing resilience. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.37%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index climbed 1.36%. South Korea’s KOSPI also traded higher, reflecting selective optimism across the region.
European markets ended the previous session on a positive note as well, with Germany’s DAX gaining 1.22% and France’s CAC 40 rising 0.79%.
