Jaipur, October 16th, 2023: Sports For All (SFA) - India’s leading tech-enabled multi-sport school competition platform, today commenced with Jaipur’s inaugural edition of the SFA Championships. The opening ceremony bought together athletes, schools, and coaches, highlighting the city's abundant sporting talent and enthusiasm.
With record participation, athletes competed at a scale never before imagined for school sports, in the country. SFA Championships aims to unveil the city's best-kept athletic talent, to discover the "number one school in sports", and eventually enable athletes to compete across geographies.
Today, October 14th made a historic beginning for school sports. SFA Championships were conducted simultaneously in 3 - Jaipur (kickoff), Indore (closing) and Dehradun (biggest weekend). Across 8 state-of-the-art sporting venues in 3 cities, athletes competed in 12 sporting disciplines – all within one day. This is the first time that school sports has witnessed a scale, this magnificent.
The inaugural day of the SFA Championships took place at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, featuring football, carrom, speedcubing and chess competitions. Additionally, the RSSC Oases Shooting Range was the venue for shooting matches, while skating contests unfolded at the JP Skating Club Banked Track, where more than 500 athletes graced the rink on day one!
Chess enthusiasts witnessed the excitement with boys participating in categories from U-7 to U-19 and girls in categories from U-9 to U-15. Young minds showcased their strategic prowess and determination, setting the stage for intense competitions in the days ahead. Simultaneously, Carrom enthusiasts, including boys in the U-12, U-14, and U-18 categories, and girls in the U-12 category, participated in knockout matches that left the audience spellbound with their remarkable skill and precision.
Against the backdrop of other exciting sports like chess and carrom, shooting competitions added a unique dimension to the SFA Championships. Athletes hailing from prestigious institutions, including Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh School Jaipur, Kendriya Vidyalaya 1, Bajaj Nagar, Tagore Public School, Vaishali Nagar, Alpha International Academy, St. Teresa's School, Harnathapura, and more, showcased their commendable marksmanship and unwavering focus, setting the stage for thrilling contests in the upcoming days.
The Rajasthan State Sports Council's invaluable support and collaboration have been instrumental in making the inaugural SFA Championships a resounding success. Their commitment to empowering sporting talent aligns perfectly with the SFA's mission to provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and promote sportsmanship.

About SFA Championships
SFA Championships showcase the potential of large-scale multi-sporting competitions propelled with tech and data analytics. Since 2015, SFA has enabled 12 Championships in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Uttarakhand, across 30 sporting disciplines, with participation of 200,000 athletes across more than 4000 schools. Being phygital in nature, the SFA Championships have today become the backbone of identifying sporting potential at the grassroots level. In 2023, SFA has pledged to encourage 2 lakh athletes to participate at 10 SFA Championships.
