Income Tax Return Filing Deadline Extended
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the due date for filing Income Tax Returns for Assessment Year 2019–20.
The original deadline of 31 July 2019 has been extended to 31 August 2019 for the applicable categories of taxpayers.
The decision has been taken after consideration of relevant administrative and taxpayer-related factors, providing additional time for compliance.
This extension applies to taxpayers whose return filing due date was originally scheduled for 31 July 2019 for AY 2019–20.
