National, September 11, 2026: EbixCash is set to accelerate the expansion of its cross-border financial services business, identifying international payments, trade remittances and global money movement as key growth priorities for its next phase. Thecompany outlined this strategic direction at the inaugural session of the 7th Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, where Guruprasad T C, Managing Director & CEO, Ebix Payment Solutions, joined global fintech leaders, policymakers and industry stakeholders todiscuss the evolution of India’s digital financial ecosystem and its growing integration with global markets.
The company’s participation at GFF 2026 comes as India moves towards the next stage of its digital financial evolution - extending the success of its domestic digital infrastructure to greater global interoperability. Held under the theme “Potential to Impact”the event brought together the global fintech ecosystem to examine how emerging technologies and digital infrastructure can create more connected, secure and inclusive financial systems. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi,in the presence of Shri Sanjay Malhotra, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, and Mr Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chair, GFF 2026.
The strategic move builds on a series of recent regulatory and infrastructure developments that have expanded EbixCash’s ability to participate in international financial flows. The company recently became the first non-bank entity in India to receive RBI approvalfor trade remittances, while its partnership with Banking Circle is enabling access to local clearing systems in key markets including the UK and European Union. This expansion is backed by EbixCash’s existing distribution and customer reach, with 100+ branchesacross 70+ cities, a presence at 20+ international airports and more than 25,000 customer touchpoints.
Guruprasad T C, Managing Director & CEO, Ebix Payment Solutions, said, “India has demonstrated the transformative potential of digital financial infrastructure at extraordinary scale. The next opportunity is to extend that capability across borders and makeglobal financial journeys more seamless. At EbixCash, we have built significant scale across payments, foreign exchange and remittances, and we are now expanding our ability to support a broader range of international financial flows. For us, the opportunityis not simply about moving more money across borders; it is about removing friction from the entire financial journey. Whether it is a student making an education payment, a traveller accessing foreign currency, an individual receiving money from overseasor a business settling an international transaction, there is significant scope to make these experiences faster, simpler and more transparent. Emerging technologies such as Agentic AI and tokenisation can further accelerate this evolution, provided they aredeployed with strong foundations of trust, security, compliance and consumer protection.”
For EbixCash, the opportunity is supported by an established position in international money movement. EbixCash World Money processes more than 75% of India’s cash-to-cash inward remittances, giving the company a significant position in one of the country’skey cross-border financial flows. Its broader payments ecosystem spans foreign exchange, inward and outward remittances, domestic and international money transfer, digital wallets, prepaid instruments and cross-border B2B and B2C payments, providing the companywith capabilities across multiple international financial use cases.
