Pune, 26th June 2026: In a significant step towards advancing specialized healthcare and making world-class liver transplant services more accessible, DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pimpri, Pune and Mirayee Hospital, Mirayee Centre for Transplant Excellence, managed by Rela Hospital Pvt. Ltd. Chennai, have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in the field of liver transplantation and advanced hepatobiliary care.
The MoU was formally signed by Hon’ble Dr. Bhagyashree Patil, Pro-Chancellor, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune and Chairperson, DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pimpri, Pune and Dr. Mohamed Rela, Chairman and Managing Director, Rela Hospital and Founder and Director, Institute of Liver Disease and Transplantation. The association marks the beginning of a partnership aimed at enhancing patient access to comprehensive liver transplant services in the region.
Under this collaboration, Mirayee Hospital will provide its specialized expertise, experienced transplant team and senior clinical leadership, while DPU Super Specialty Hospital, Pimpri, Pune will offer the necessary infrastructure, facilities and operational support to ensure seamless delivery of liver transplant services and related clinical care.
With over 6,000 liver transplants to his credit and his name associated with the Guinness World Records recognised surgery on the youngest liver transplant patient, Dr. Mohamed Rela brings exceptional surgical expertise and global clinical leadership to this partnership.
Speaking on the association, Hon’ble Dr. P. D. Patil, Chancellor, Dr. D. Y.
