Rajasthan’s School Education Department has released the January 2026 District Academic Ranking, reinforcing accountability and performance-driven improvement across the state’s school system. The latest ranking places Jhunjhunu and Hanumangarh at the top, with Churu securing third position after notable progress.
The ranking evaluates districts on key indicators including student attendance, quality of classroom teaching, field-based monitoring, governance efficiency, and academic performance. With a stronger focus on measurable outcomes, the system is increasingly driving targeted interventions, transparency, and continuous improvement in school education.
Learning outcomes take centre stage
For the first time, learning outcomes have been formally integrated into the ranking framework. Greater weightage has been given to Competency-Based Assessment (CBA), Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) evaluation, and board examination results, ensuring that district performance reflects not just administrative efficiency but also real academic impact on students.
Regular data-driven performance review
The district ranking is designed to enable monthly, data-based performance reviews led by the Secretary of School Education. Detailed analysis of district-wise and parameter-wise scores helps identify gaps and define clear corrective action plans for improvement.
According to the latest rankings, Jhunjhunu and Hanumangarh retained their top positions, followed by Churu in third place, overtaking Ganganagar. Sikar, Bharatpur, and Khairthal-Tijara ranked fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively, while Banswara and Jaisalmer placed at the bottom, highlighting areas needing focused support.
