In line with the directives of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government is taking significant steps to promote agricultural mechanisation under the Rajasthan Agricultural Technology Mission. With the objectives of increasing agricultural productivity, reducing input costs, ensuring faster execution of farm operations, and enhancing farmers’ income, the Custom Hiring Centre (CHC) scheme is being implemented effectively across the state.
Under this scheme, Gram Seva Cooperative Societies have been developed as Custom Hiring Centres through the Cooperative Department. The initiative is aimed especially at small and marginal farmers who, due to limited income, are unable to purchase expensive and advanced agricultural machinery. Through these centres, farmers can now access essential modern farm equipment on rent at affordable rates.
To ensure proper selection and procurement of agricultural machinery, smooth implementation of the scheme, and continuous monitoring, district-level monitoring committees have been constituted. Each Custom Hiring Centre has been equipped with a tractor along with other essential farm implements such as rotavators, cultivators, seed-cum-fertiliser drills, MB ploughs, threshers, and other useful machinery, selected according to local needs and prevailing cropping patterns.
Keeping farmers’ convenience in mind, the government has also introduced the Raj Kisan Custom Hiring App, through which farmers can easily book tractors and other agricultural equipment as per their requirement and schedule, and avail mechanisation services seamlessly.
