The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board actively participated in Tourism Exchange 2026, a flagship national event organised by the Tourism India Alliance. The three-day event was held from January 8 to 10 at Mayfair Palm Beach Resort & Spa, Gopalpur-on-Sea, Odisha.
The event witnessed participation from over 300 delegates and more than 30 exhibitors from India and abroad, reinforcing Tourism Exchange’s position as one of the country’s most influential tourism networking platforms.
During the event, tourism experts and industry leaders highlighted the need to promote the distinct identity of emerging destinations such as Chhattisgarh and Odisha at national and international levels. Discussions also focused on sustainable tourism development, with Chhattisgarh’s recent policy initiatives receiving particular attention.
Poonam Sharma, DGM, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, stated that platforms like Tourism Exchange provide valuable opportunities for meaningful dialogue on sustainable and inclusive tourism development. She added that Chhattisgarh is strengthening its tourism ecosystem through strong policy support, including granting tourism industry status in 2024 and launching a dedicated homestay policy.
Building on the momentum of Tourism Exchange 2026, the Tourism India Alliance announced that the next national edition of Tourism Exchange 2027 will be held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, from January 7 to 9, 2027. The announcement underscores the platform’s continued focus on promoting emerging tourism destinations across India.
