Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma and Forest & Environment Minister Kedar Kashyap visited leading dairy facilities in Gujarat along with livestock farmers and members of Bihan women’s groups to study advanced dairy operations and cooperative systems. The delegation aimed to learn from the dairy success of Banaskantha and replicate best practices in Chhattisgarh.
During the educational tour, the delegation visited major dairy institutions including Banas Dairy, Dudhsagar Dairy, and Amul, where officials explained the complete production and processing cycle. The team inspected dairy plants, a Bio-CNG facility, edible oil and flour units, and the Sherpura Dairy Cooperative Society to understand operational and technical systems.
Focus on Replicating Successful Dairy Practices
Deputy CM Vijay Sharma said the visit was not just observational but aimed at implementing successful dairy models in Chhattisgarh. He encouraged participants to closely study milk collection systems, quality control, processing technologies, and marketing frameworks.
He added that the exposure would help farmers and women’s groups gain practical knowledge in balanced feed development, advanced livestock management, dairy processing, product manufacturing, and market linkages. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is working to make rural women and livestock farmers self-reliant through Bihan groups and livestock development initiatives.
Cooperative Model Key to Rural Growth
Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap highlighted that the dairy cooperative model is a powerful tool for strengthening the rural economy. He said effective adoption of this model in Chhattisgarh could significantly increase farmers’ income and create new employment opportunities in rural areas.
