Social media creators using multimodal artificial intelligence applications earned 400% higher revenue in 2025 without ever appearing on camera, the 2025 Creator Economy Report published Monday by SignalFire found.
Instagram’s Reels AI, rolled out globally in March, converts a 15-second voice memo into a fully edited vertical video with trending audio, text overlays, and transitions. Average earnings per Reel using the feature rose from $180 to $920, Meta reported.
Snapchat’s “My AI Stories” automatically generates daily 10-second stories from bullet-point notes, helping creators gain an average 1.1 million followers with zero filming. TikTok Symphony enables users to speak prompts such as “make me a get-ready-with-me in Paris” — the system produces outfit changes, location backgrounds, and lip-sync in under one minute. Top Symphony creators reached $1.4 million monthly, the report said.
WhatsApp Channels combined with Gemini now drafts complete newsletters from three-sentence outlines, boosting open rates 72%. Zero on-camera creators now account for 38% of the top 1,000 highest earners across major platforms, a historic shift, SignalFire concluded.
