Asian markets witnessed a sharp sell-off, with major regional indices trading significantly lower. South Korea's KOSPI recorded the steepest decline, falling 5.25% to 6,724.49, while Japan's Nikkei 225 declined 2.79% to 64,568.75.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 1.40% to 24,857.93, while Taiwan's benchmark index declined 2.51% to 43,726.46.
