With a commitment to conducting free and fair elections, polling teams for the Anta Assembly by-election 2025, scheduled for November 11, will depart for their designated polling stations on Monday. A total of 268 polling booths have been set up in the constituency. Before departure, the polling teams will receive their final training at the Government Postgraduate College grounds, where a large tent has been erected for the purpose.
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Naveen Mahajan informed that polling teams will be given training at 8 AM, after which they will be dispatched to their respective polling centers. Before departure, they will be briefed on polling day activities, key rules, precautions, and instructions. After the session, the teams will collect polling materials from the training venue and proceed to their assigned centers with police personnel, videographers, and micro-observers, following the prescribed route chart and check-post entry formalities. He added that all necessary preparations have been completed by the Election Department to ensure voting is conducted in a free and fear-free environment. Facilities such as help desks and drinking water will be available at the training venue. Election observers appointed by the Election Commission of India, along with other officials, will also be present during the training.
Campaign Silence Begins —
Under the Assembly by-election guidelines, all campaign activities have come to a halt 48 hours before the close of polling, starting from 6 PM on Sunday. During this 48-hour period, public meetings, rallies, films, television, and other forms of campaigning are prohibited. Use of loudspeakers for campaigning is also banned. Additionally, no political figure who is not a voter, candidate, MP, or MLA of the concerned constituency is permitted to stay there once the campaign period has ended.
