In Cricket, India defeated New Zealand by seven wickets in the second Twenty20 International at Auckland yesterday. Chasing the target of 133 runs, India made 135 for the loss of three wickets with 15 balls to spare. While KL Rahul remained not out at 57, Shreyas Iye made 44.
Earlier, Indian bowlers struck intermittently to restrict Kiwis to a modest 132 for five. Opting to bat, the Black Caps could not generate enough momentum in the middle overs and finished with a sub-par total.
Martin Guptill top-scored with 33 off 20 balls, while Tim Seifert was unbeaten on 33 not out off 26 balls.
While Jadeja picked up two wickets, Thakur, Dube and Bumrah took one each.India lead the 5-match series 2-0. The 3rd T20 will be played in Hamilton on Wednesday.
