Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that women represent dedication in every form, and the government has fulfilled every promise made for their welfare. “We are continuously moving forward in our commitment to women’s empowerment,” he stated. On the occasion of Bhai Dooj, the Chief Minister recalled his promise to increase the Ladli Behna Yojana amount from ₹1,250 to ₹1,500, which has now been fulfilled.
Dr. Yadav announced the transfer of ₹1,857 crore through a single click to the bank accounts of over 1.26 crore Ladli Behna beneficiaries, including 2.68 lakh women from Seoni district. He said that out of the total 30 installments of the scheme, 23 have been successfully transferred so far. “The Ladli Behna Yojana has not only changed the lives of our sisters but has also reshaped the future of Madhya Pradesh. It is no longer just a scheme of assistance — it is an opportunity for empowerment,” the Chief Minister said.
He emphasized that the initiative has evolved from a gesture of support into a symbol of success, contributing significantly to women’s self-respect, independence, and confidence, thus laying the foundation for a strong and empowered Madhya Pradesh.
During his visit to Seoni district, Dr. Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation for 114 development projects worth ₹560.75 crore, including the establishment of a Law College and four Sandipani Schools. He also inaugurated a 17-feet-tall, 40-feet-wide tiger sculpture made from scrap metal at the Pench Tiger Reserve, described as the largest of its kind in the world.
Fulfilling local demands, the Chief Minister announced the construction of a sports stadium in Ghansaur, a large bridge between Lamta (Balaghat district) and Pandia Chapara (Seoni district), and the development of various roads including Atari-Pandarwani BT Road and Barghat to Makraghatta road.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Yadav interacted with beneficiaries who shared how the Ladli Behna Yojana had changed their lives — from starting small businesses and funding children’s education to acquiring new skills. He stated that since the scheme’s inception in June 2023, the government has transferred ₹44,917 crore to women’s accounts, including ₹34,921 crore between January 2024 and October 2025.
He added that the government continues to give a special ₹250 Raksha Bandhan gift to all beneficiaries, which has now been increased to ₹1,500 per month. “These ₹1,500 will give new wings to your dreams,” he said.
Dr. Yadav further highlighted that Seoni holds immense potential for eco-tourism and wildlife-based economic growth, with new opportunities emerging in home-stays, adventure tourism, and local entrepreneurship. He also noted that women are leading the district in various capacities — as Member of Parliament, District Collector, and Zila Panchayat President — symbolizing true empowerment.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the Central Government, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had inspired the increase in the Ladli Behna Yojana amount. “We are celebrating festivals like Raksha Bandhan and Bhai Dooj every month now because we have turned promises into reality,” he added. He also referred to the ongoing 150th birth anniversary celebrations of tribal icon Birsa Munda, emphasizing the inclusion of tribal heroes’ stories and contributions in school curricula.
Women to Become Fearless and Lead
Dr. Yadav shared that over ₹45,000 crore has been distributed so far through the scheme. On completion of two years of the state government, plans are underway to provide women with employment-based income support of ₹5,000 per month. He encouraged women to take up animal husbandry, noting that “a household with milk, curd, and butter is one free from malnutrition.” The government aims to increase milk production by 20% in the state.
