Whirlpool of India has launched its new ‘No Tension Refrigerators’ range in the single-door category, aimed at solving one of the most common consumer pain points — the hassle of manual defrosting. With the introduction of its Vitamagic Pro and IMPRO PLUS ranges, the company says it now offers the largest range of automatic defrost refrigerators in the single-door segment.
The new range addresses the tedious process of ice removal that usually requires users to switch off the refrigerator, empty stored items, wait for the ice to melt, and manage water spillage. This inconvenience becomes even more frequent during peak summer months when refrigerator usage is higher.
To solve this issue, Whirlpool has equipped the refrigerators with its proprietary 6th Sense IntelliFrost Technology, which intelligently senses ice buildup and automatically initiates defrosting whenever required. This removes the need for manual intervention, ensures easier access to stored food, and helps prevent internal water spillage, making daily refrigeration more convenient.
Commenting on the launch, Nakul Tewari, Vice President – Marketing, Whirlpool of India, said the company aims to eliminate one of the most frustrating everyday challenges faced by single-door refrigerator users through automatic defrosting and smarter innovation.
Smart features for daily convenience
Apart from automatic defrosting, the Vitamagic Pro and IMPRO PLUS ranges include multiple intelligent cooling modes designed around everyday household needs:
- FlexiCool: Lets users set cooling levels to Low, Medium, or High
- Fast Forward Ice: Delivers ice in as little as 95 minutes
- Eco Mode: Helps reduce energy consumption during periods of lower usage, such as vacations
These features allow users to optimize cooling performance, convenience, and energy efficiency based on their lifestyle.
Freshness and food preservation technologies
The new refrigerators also come with Whirlpool’s advanced freshness technologies to preserve food for longer durations.
Both ranges feature Microblock Technology, which helps prevent up to 99% bacterial growth, improving hygiene and food preservation.
The IMPRO PLUS range offers up to 15 days of garden freshness, while the Vitamagic Pro range delivers up to 12 days of garden freshness, allowing fruits and vegetables to stay fresh for longer.
Additionally, the Vitamagic Pro range includes Whirlpool’s patented Zeolite Technology, which absorbs excess ethylene gas released by fruits and vegetables — a key reason behind premature ripening. By regulating ethylene levels, the technology helps maintain freshness and offers up to 40% longer vitamin preservation.
