Vyomini Social Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Public Police, a non-governmental organisation headed by Justice K.G. Balakrishnan (Retd.), former Chief Justice of India and former Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission. The collaboration aims to promote sustainable sanitation, menstrual hygiene management, behaviour change, and healthy lifestyle practices among police personnel across the NCR region.
Under this one-year MoU, Vyomini will conduct sensitisation and training programmes for police officers and staff in police stations, focusing on improving hygiene practices, sanitation infrastructure, and menstrual health awareness. The initiative also aims to support skill development among sanitation workers and promote entrepreneurship among underprivileged communities.
The formal signing took place between Ms. Prachi Kaushik, Founder and Director of Vyomini Social Foundation, and Mr. Deo Datta, former Chairman and COO, Noida Authority, Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Prachi Kaushik, Founder and Director of Vyomini Social Foundation, said, "Our police personnel play a vital role in maintaining public order, yet their health and hygiene needs often remain overlooked. Through this partnership with Public Police, we aim to bring about sustainable behaviour change and create a healthier, more dignified work environment for them. Among the eminent guests present were Justice K.G. Balakrishnan (Retd.), heading Public Police, Mr. Deo Datta, former Chairman and COO, Noida Authority, Uttar Pradesh; Mr. Rakesh Kumar Maheshwari, Senior Chartered Accountant; Mr. Prem Kumar Malhotra, former Law Secretary, Government of India; Dr. Ram Karan Verma, former Joint Secretary, Department of Electronics, Government of India; Mr. Praveen Kumar Bansal, former Vice Chairman, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal; and several senior members of the Public Police organisation comprising retired bureaucrats and officers. The distinguished dignitaries shared their insights on strengthening public-police engagement and fostering sanitation-linked entrepreneurship.
As part of the initiative, Vyomini will facilitate the installation of sanitary vending machines and coordinate hygiene sensitisation drives across all police stations in NCR. The collaboration underscores the shared vision of both organisations, to build healthier, cleaner, and more inclusive work environments for police personnel while empowering grassroots communities through education, skill-building, and entrepreneurship.
