UK Labour Party leader Keir Starmer has expressed deep concern over the tragic crash of an Air India flight bound for London, which went down shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad on Thursday. The aircraft was reportedly carrying several British nationals.
“The scenes emerging of a London-bound plane carrying many British nationals crashing in the Indian city of Ahmedabad are devastating,” Starmer posted on X.
“I am being kept updated as the situation develops, and my thoughts are with the passengers and their families at this deeply distressing time,” he added.
The UK Foreign Office is expected to coordinate with Indian authorities as updates continue to emerge regarding casualties and rescue operations.
