Udaipur, India – Dr. Iqbal Sakka, a renowned goldsmith and 100-time world record holder from Udaipur, has once again set a new world record. On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's 155th birth anniversary, Dr. Sakka has crafted the world's smallest Gandhi chashma (glasses), khadaun (wooden sandals), a model of a boat that could sail on the Sabarmati River, and a paddle.
These miniature artifacts, smaller than a grain of sugar, are made of gold. Dr. Sakka has even crafted tiny glass lenses for the Gandhi chashma. The entire creation process took seven days. Weighing a mere 0.010 milligrams, these tiny pieces are set to be submitted to the Guinness World Records.
A Tribute to Gandhi Dr. Sakka plans to donate one of the Gandhi chashma sets to the Mahatma Gandhi Museum in Porbandar, Gujarat. The other set will be presented to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, as a token of appreciation for the success of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission).
A Local Sensation Dr. Sakka has showcased these miniature masterpieces to tourists at Udaipur's popular tourist spots like Dudh Talai, Moti Magri, and Saheliyon ki Bari. Visitors have been left amazed and impressed by the intricate craftsmanship.
