HKUST has always been a pioneer in innovative education and launched novel programs that meet latest societal needs. Among them are the two undergraduate degree programs – “Science with an extended Major in Artificial Intelligence” and “Engineering with an extended Major in Artificial Intelligence”. To help students better integrate new knowledge into existing disciplines and systems, students in this program will have to study a traditional science or engineering major, while undertaking an extended major which now only covers AI, but will be expanded to other emerging hot topics such as data science, FinTech and digital media and arts in the near future.
With the opening of HKUST’s new campus in Nansha, Guangzhou, students of HKUST and HKUST(GZ) can take courses offered by both campuses, with credits mutually recognized and automatically transferable. Meanwhile, HKUST(GZ) offers 15 MPhil/PhD degrees in areas including Sustainable Energy and Environment, Artificial Intelligence, and Computational Media and Arts, among other pioneering programs.
