India is going to reach 75 years milestone by earning independence. It is our responsibility to remember the people’s fight in the Swarajya war against the atrocity of the British rulers. The history of the Indian Swarajya war is great and inspiring. The diversity of the Indian Swarajya war which has happened in the path of non-violence is a pride for all Indians. People from many regions, from different social and economic backgrounds, united, the inspiring public partnership that has emerged the Swarajya is an impact against the British rule, the whole world has attracted attention.
As part of my mindset, I am telling you about the unusual bravery sacrifices made by Indian brave women freedom fighters in the Swarajya movement. As a part of today’s mood, I express my tribute to Mrs. Rukmini Lakshmi who participated in the salt satyagraha movement in Madras presidency under Rajaji’s leadership.
She is the first woman to be arrested in the Madras presidency in the background of the salt satyagraha movement. She was also the first Indian woman to be sentenced to jail for participating in the salt satyagraha, according to various historical evidence. Not only that she says she donated all her gold ornaments to the Harijana welfare fund.Rukmini Lakshmi Pathi, born in the family of Bhooswamula on 1892 December 6, is a woman who has independence feelings. Nati cochin state divan is her protector. She is also one of the first graduate team of women’s Christian college famous in Madras. Liberal was named for her views of responding to people’s sufferings.
Dr. Aachanta Lakshmi Pathi who lost his wife has married a doctor without caste. Later he focuses on Ayurveda, and Indian pharmaceutical systems. In the 1920 s, she was influenced by prominent leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sri Chakravartula Rajagopalachari, Mrs. Sarojini Naidu, she was attracted towards the Swarajya struggle and the indigenous movement. Not only motivated the youth to cut the yarn, but also encouraged the use of it. Women are encouraged to take part in the freedom fight. The women’s empowerment through education was triggering and working hard for it, while the Bharatiya Women’s Mandal and Women’s India Association were actively participating in programs.
She was not only promoting social reforms, but seriously opposed social abuse, such as child marriage. She conducted the Youth League of Congress to equate youth towards the Swarajya movement as a member of the past Congress. Congress appointed her to attend the International Women’s Conference on Right to Vote in Paris in 1926Mrs. Rukmini played a crucial role in protests against Simon Commission.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day announced on 1930 January 26 In the same year, they also participated in the violation movement. We all know that Mahatma Gandhi started a historic salt satyagraha movement against the British government taxes on salt. Dandi Yatra was held for 24 days from Sabarmati Ashram in Navasari district of South Gujarat from 1930 March 12 to 1930 April 6 Same protests took place in many places in the coastal areas of the country.Sri Rajaji Yatra was conducted from Tiruchi to Vedaranyam along with 99 selected Satyagrahi including four women in Madras presidency.
Mrs. Rukmini was also one of the selected women at that time. There are no women satyagrahs in Gandhiji’s Dandi Yatra. Not just that we should all remember that a large number of women didn’t take part in the salt satyagrah anywhere else.
The British rulers have decided to stop the trip. Local commissioner ordered lathi charge on those who participated in the tour. Without fear of all these things, Mrs. Rukmini Lakshmi Pathi went forward bravely. In that case, it is also said that other women were also eaten by sticks to protect the Satyagrahs. We can understand the intensity of the situation if the rulers have warned the people of those villages that they should not get severe punishment if they provide food to the Satyagrahs.Along with Mrs. Rukmini Lakshmi Pathi, other Satyagrahs were arrested in Vedaranyam.
She then suffered a year in jail.Later in 1937, she was elected as the first female member of the Madras Legislative Assembly. He also served as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.Mahatma Gandhi also launched a personal satyagraha. According to this, he should read a line against the British rule by standing in a prominent place in his elected Satyagrahi town.
Satyagrahi should be convicted after arrest. Like that, Mrs. Rukmini Lakshmi Pathi is one among the 21 Satyagrahs selected for Madras. And then she was arrested. After Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu assumed Chief Minister in 1946, she was the first woman minister in the cabinet. He played a significant role in bringing Ayurveda and Indian medical policies into publicity as Health Minister.Thousands of protests took place in almost every city and town as part of our Swarajya fight. Common people of different sections of the society led those protests.
They all came forward to save the country from the hands of foreign rulers.Tribute to those great men who played a key role in the Indian Swarajya battle with anupama bravery, patriotism and purity. They should be given adequate respect in history books. It is sad that the details of so many great people like this are not perfect to ignore. State governments, universities and research agencies need to take special effort to collect authentic information and publish books about the stories of heroes and heroes. I wish their stories were included in the curriculum plan and inspire the future generations.
