Swachhata Pakhwada is being observed in Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) from 1st to 15th September, 2024. As part of it a mass awareness program was organised today in Jamia Senior Secondary School (JSSS) campus which was attended by students, teachers and non-teaching staff with great excitement and enthusiasm.
A special assembly was conducted which focused on the need of cleanliness, hygiene and its importance in Islam and other religions. Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s emphasis on Swachhta and his concern for the health of Indians was also reiterated. Afterwards, the Swachh Bharat anthem was sung by the students.
Dr Mohd Arshad Khan (Principal, JSSS) addressed students and spoke about the Swachhta Pakhwada. Dr Ayub Khan, Sanitary Inspector, Sanitation Unit and Syed Razi Naqvi, Sanitation Unit were also present on the occasion. The program concluded with a Cleanliness Drive, undertaken by students and staff who collected litter and cleaned the area.
