President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious ‘Super Swachh League City’ National Award to Dungarpur, a tribal-dominated district of Rajasthan, for its outstanding performance in cleanliness. In the same event, Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation was honoured with the ‘Promising Swachh City’ State Award for excellence in sanitation at the state level.
The awards were presented at a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on Thursday. The Minister of Urban Development and Autonomous Governance of Rajasthan (Independent Charge), Shri Jhabar Singh Khara, received the awards on behalf of the state. Also present at the event were Dungarpur Municipal Council Chairman Shri Amrit Kalasua and the Commissioner of Dungarpur.
Dungarpur Sets New Benchmark in Sanitation
On this occasion, Shri Khara highlighted that the tribal-majority city of Dungarpur has achieved a significant milestone in cleanliness, crediting the Municipal Council staff and the citizens of Dungarpur for their dedication and awareness. He stated that Dungarpur continues to receive national-level awards, making it Rajasthan’s leading city in sanitation efforts. This year, Dungarpur was the only city from Rajasthan to be included among the country’s top 15 Super Swachh League Cities.
Jaipur Greater Recognized as ‘Promising Swachh City’
In addition, the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation received the ‘Promising Swachh City’ Award from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for its outstanding sanitation initiatives.
