As the country gradually resumes operations, school students perhaps have waited the longest to return to their campuses and resume their regular academic lives.
Based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family welfare related to reopening of Schools (in the context of COVID 19) Genesis Global School, Noida made the decision to welcome its students to the campus, in a phased manner.
Post discussion and consent from parents , it was delightful to see that the community placed its trust in the School and decided to send their children back to the campus.
Students of CBSE grades 6 to 8 started the process in a phased manner, followed by the younger children of PYP Grades 3 to 5 coming in once a week.
While the school day has been kept short, each grade was allotted a certain day of the week, which allowed students to be seated maintaining social distancing protocols. Special arrangements for sports and other activities were made, to make the students feel as normal as possible.
Speaking on their return student Aditi Ghosh of Grade 8 says “coming back to school after nearly a year was a good experience. Meeting old friends and some new ones too, who I had been interacting with online only till now. Teachers are taking the safety protocols very seriously, we have to sanitize our hands every hour and keep our masks on, except when we eat. Things are new, but we will get used to them.”
Mr. David Brazeau, School Director, Genesis Global School is happy to see the students back with enthusiasm and also following all protocols diligently as they adapt to the new ‘normal’. “It is fantastic to see students return to campus eager to resume face to face learning. This has been, and continues to be, a trying time for students and teachers and we are all awaiting the time when things can truly return to normal. This experience should highlight the importance schools play in the lives of our communities. ”
