The Sensex advanced 189.02 points (0.25%) to 77,114.24, while the Nifty 50 climbed 70.90 points (0.29%) to 24,075.05 in early trade.
Among the broader indices, the Nifty Midcap 100 gained 0.42% to 62,269.15, reflecting continued strength in mid-cap stocks. The Nifty Bank also traded higher, adding 0.22% to 58,162.20.
The standout performer was the Nifty IT index, which surged 2.11% to 26,314, emerging as the top sectoral gainer in the opening session.
Market breadth remained positive, with 1,446 stocks advancing against 372 declining on the NSE during early trade, indicating broad-based buying across sectors.
