Jaipur, April 6, 2026:
Rajasthan Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara on Monday chaired a key review meeting on wheat procurement for the Rabi Marketing Season 2026–27, directing officials to ensure that all arrangements are carried out in a timely, transparent, and farmer-friendly manner.
Chairing the meeting at the Secretariat, the minister said the state government’s top priority is to provide maximum relief and convenience to farmers during the procurement season, so that they do not face unnecessary delays or hardship while selling their produce at government centres.
A major focus of the meeting was the smooth implementation of the time-slot booking system at procurement centres. Godara instructed officials to ensure that the facility functions without confusion or disruption, allowing farmers to sell wheat in an organised manner and avoid overcrowding.
He also clarified that only the registered farmer or a family member listed on the Jan Aadhaar card will be authorised to sell wheat, a move aimed at strengthening transparency and preventing misuse of the procurement system.
The minister directed officials to make all logistical arrangements based on previous years’ procurement trends, with special focus on districts expected to witness higher wheat arrivals. He specifically asked departments to ensure the adequate availability of gunny bags (bardana) at all procurement centres so that operations are not disrupted due to packaging shortages.
To curb irregularities and eliminate chances of fraud, the minister also ordered the proper implementation of biometric verification at the centres.
In a key administrative decision, Godara instructed the department to constitute a special monitoring team to oversee wheat procurement operations across the state on a continuous basis.
He further said that centres likely to receive heavy arrivals should not depend on a single agency, and instead multiple procurement agencies should be deployed wherever necessary to ensure faster and smoother operations.
