Amid rising cyber threats in the digital era, the Rajasthan Police have launched a decisive and technology-driven crackdown on cybercriminals, positioning the state as a national model for cyber security enforcement. Under the leadership of Director General of Police Rajeev Sharma, the Cyber Crime Branch has delivered significant results in 2025, ranking fifth nationwide in freezing defrauded funds.
According to Deputy Inspector General (Cyber Crime) Vikas Sharma, 2025 was marked by sustained, intelligence-led operations such as Operation Mule Account & POS, Cyber Shield, Anti-Virus Campaign, and Operation Vajra Prahar. These coordinated initiatives dismantled cyber fraud networks operating across the state and beyond.
2.5 Lakh Mobile Numbers and IMEIs Blocked
As part of these operations, Rajasthan Police blocked nearly 2.5 lakh suspicious mobile numbers and IMEI devices, while identifying and freezing thousands of mule bank accounts. This action effectively disrupted illegal financial channels used by cyber fraudsters.
Strong Recovery Despite Rise in Complaints
Comparative data from 2024 and 2025 highlights the impact of enforcement. While total cyber complaints increased by 27.7% (from 1,00,032 to 1,27,713), the number of FIRs declined by 19.7%, indicating faster resolution and preventive intervention.
The total amount involved in cyber fraud cases fell by 3.4%, from ₹795.9 crore in 2024 to ₹768.7 crore in 2025.
Most notably, the amount frozen or recovered through lien/hold actions surged by 71.3%, rising from ₹104.6 crore in 2024 to ₹179.15 crore in 2025, placing Rajasthan among the top-performing states in protecting citizens’ money.
Cyber Police Stations Active in All 41 Districts
All 41 revenue districts in Rajasthan now have fully functional cyber police stations, supported by cyber helpdesks at every local police station. The 1930 cybercrime helpline operates round the clock, enabling immediate intervention to block fraudulent banking transactions.
Public Awareness and WhatsApp Helplines
To counter emerging fraud methods such as fake SIM sales, digital arrest scams, banking collusion, and misuse of e-Mitra services, Rajasthan Police have intensified public awareness campaigns. Two dedicated WhatsApp helpline numbers — 9256001930 and 9257510100 — have also been launched for public assistance. Continuous advisories through print and electronic media have significantly improved public vigilance.
