Rajasthan High Court Cancels SI Recruitment 2021: 859 Posts Annulled After Trainee Sub-Inspectors Caught in Paper Leak.
A major decision has come in the high-profile SI Recruitment 2021 case in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan High Court’s division bench on Wednesday completely annulled the recruitment process. Justice Sameer Jain’s bench had reserved its verdict on August 14 after hearing arguments from all parties, and the judgment has now been delivered.
The matter had been pending in court for about a year. On August 13, 2023, some candidates filed a petition demanding cancellation of the recruitment, alleging large-scale irregularities and paper leaks, which, they argued, caused injustice to honest aspirants.
During the hearing, the state government had contended that only 68 candidates were involved in malpractice. These included 54 trainee SIs, 6 selected candidates, and 8 absconding accused.
Several trainee sub-inspectors were caught in the paper leak case. After hearing arguments from both sides on August 14, the division bench of Justice Sameer Jain reserved its judgment. Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena said that the High Court’s decision is a victory of truth. He added that the entire recruitment process was marred by fraud.
