Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that the achievements of NRI (Non-Resident Indian) Rajasthanis serve as a significant source of inspiration and guidance, especially for the youth of the state. He highlighted that NRI Rajasthanis contribute not only to their adopted workplaces, like Surat, but also to the development of their motherland, Rajasthan.
Speaking at the NRI Rajasthani Meet in Surat, Mr. Sharma noted that the connection between Gujarat and Rajasthan goes beyond geography. Both states share immense potential for economic, cultural, and social cooperation in sectors like gems and jewelry, pharma, textiles, and proposed petrochemical complexes.
Creating a Joint ‘Gems and Jewelry Hub’
The Chief Minister said Surat and Rajasthan share a spirit of entrepreneurship, creativity, and perseverance. While Surat is globally renowned for diamond cutting and synthetic textiles, Rajasthan is famous for colored stones, kundan, meenakari, textiles, and gems. He urged joint efforts to establish Rajasthan as a global ‘Gems and Jewelry Hub.’
‘Pravasi Rajasthani Samman Award’ for Outstanding Contributions
Mr. Sharma invited NRI Rajasthanis to participate in the Pravasi Rajasthani Day, scheduled on 10 December in Jaipur. He announced the Pravasi Rajasthani Samman Award, which will honor NRIs excelling in science, business, arts, sports, literature, cinema, music, and social service.
Support for Global Capability and Data Centers
The Chief Minister stated that the state government will provide full support to investors and entrepreneurs establishing Global Capability Centers and Data Centers in Rajasthan. He invited investments in sectors such as IT, pharma, textiles, gems and jewelry, energy, petrochemicals, tourism, and mining.
