Raj Shamani Podcast- Banks Recovered ₹14,100 Crore from Me: Vijay Mallya Responds to Harsh Goenka's Defence Against Political Targeting.
Beleaguered liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who faces charges of fraud and money laundering in India, on Thursday reiterated that Indian banks have recovered ₹14,100 crore from him—more than double his debt of ₹6,203 crore. The former owner of Kingfisher Airlines and RCB also alleged discrimination, claiming that unlike other defaulters who received relief, he continues to be singled out. Thanking RPG Group chairman Harsh Goenka for his public support, Mallya said, “The Union Finance Ministry has confirmed in writing that banks have recovered ₹14,100 crore from me against a DRT judgment debt of ₹6,203 crore. Why the blatant discrimination?” Mallya had made similar claims in December 2024 and February this year.
