Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the centenary celebrations of Aligarh Muslim University at 11 this morning via video conferencing. Mr Modi will also release a postal stamp during the event. Chancellor of the University Syedna Mufaddal Saifudin and Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will also be present on the occasion.
AIR correspondent reports that all preparations of the centenary celebrations have been completed and people are very much enthused and happy to see the Prime Minister at the campus. In wake of the Prime Minister’s participation in the event, elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in and around the university premises.
One of the oldest universities in the country was established in December 1920 by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. The participation of the Prime Minister in AMU will give a new direction and open a new era of academic growth there. The renowned central university has produced several national and international fame celebrities in different fields. AMU Vice Chancellor Tariq Mansoor said the AMU community is thankful to Prime Minister Sri Modi for accepting the invitation to participate in the centenary celebrations of the university.
