Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Jogaram Patel on Saturday distributed free bicycles to 39 schoolgirls at the Government Senior Secondary School in Boranada, Jodhpur, as part of the state government’s initiatives to promote girls’ education.
Addressing the programme, Shri Patel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government transferred ₹126.81 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) on January 22 to over three lakh girls under various schemes, including the Gargi Award. He added that during the 2025–26 academic session, around ₹53 crore was also disbursed via DBT to 4.40 lakh eligible students under the Transport Voucher Scheme.
The minister stressed that value-based education is the most important foundation for national progress. “Children are the future of India. The vision of a developed India can be realised only through their holistic development,” he said.
Shri Patel underlined that education should not be limited to textbooks alone, but must include moral values, discipline, and a sense of social responsibility. He said families, society, and schools must collectively work to inculcate ethical values in children and shape them into responsible citizens.
Calling upon teachers to identify and nurture students’ hidden talents, the minister also urged villagers to actively support the development of schools to strengthen the educational environment. “The progress of a village and society is closely linked to the development of its schools,” he said, adding that technological knowledge and digital education are essential for students in today’s era.
