The NFL’s Week 12 slate delivered high drama across the league, featuring overtime finishes, late-game collapses, and one of the season’s most explosive individual performances.
Chiefs 23, Colts 20 (OT)
Mahomes drags Kansas City back from the brink
KANSAS CITY — The Chiefs kept their season alive the hard way. Trailing by 11 early in the fourth quarter, Patrick Mahomes engineered a late rally and finished with a season-best 352 passing yards before Harrison Butker’s 27-yard field goal in overtime sealed a 23–20 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Kansas City’s defense flipped the contest in the final quarter, forcing four consecutive three-and-outs as the Colts abandoned the run despite Jonathan Taylor’s strong early work. Indianapolis, which led 20–9, managed just 255 total yards — its lowest output of the season.
Rashee Rice came up big when it mattered most, hauling in eight receptions for 141 yards, including key grabs on both the game-tying drive and the overtime march. Kareem Hunt added 104 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries as the Chiefs climbed to 6–5 and stayed in the AFC playoff picture.
Cowboys 24, Eagles 21
Dallas erases 21-point deficit in emotional night at AT&T Stadium
ARLINGTON — The Cowboys delivered one of their most resilient wins in recent memory, storming back from a 21–0 hole to stun the Philadelphia Eagles 24–21. Brandon Aubrey’s 42-yard field goal as time expired capped a gritty performance from Dak Prescott, who broke Tony Romo’s franchise record for career passing yards during the comeback.
Prescott threw for 354 yards with two touchdowns and added a leaping eight-yard score early in the fourth quarter to tie the game. The victory also extended his home dominance within the division — now 19 straight wins against NFC East opponents.
The Eagles appeared in complete control after a blistering start highlighted by A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts, but the offense stalled after halftime. Philadelphia lost with a 21-point lead for the first time since 1999.
Lions 34, Giants 27 (OT)
Gibbs explodes for 264 yards, wins it on first play of overtime
DETROIT — Jahmyr Gibbs delivered a performance that will follow him for years. The Lions’ electric running back piled up 264 yards from scrimmage and scored three times, including a 69-yard sprint on the first snap of overtime to beat the New York Giants 34–27.
Detroit trailed by double digits multiple times but refused to fold, with Jake Bates drilling a 59-yard field goal in the final minute of regulation to force overtime. Aidan Hutchinson ended New York’s final drive in OT with a critical fourth-down sack of Jameis Winston.
Winston was pressed into duty for the injured Jaxson Dart and provided two trick-play touchdowns, but the Giants fell to 2–10, dropping their sixth straight and continuing a season defined by fourth-quarter collapses.
Patriots 26, Bengals 20
New England extends win streak to nine behind rookie composure
FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots stretched their winning streak to nine games with a composed 26–20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Rookie quarterback Drake Maye passed for 294 yards and a touchdown, while Marcus Jones shifted momentum with a 33-yard interception return for a score.
Tight end Hunter Henry was Maye’s top target, finishing with a career-high 115 yards and a touchdown. Cincinnati pushed late, reaching the New England 26 with under 20 seconds to play, but Joe Flacco’s fourth-down pass toward Mike Gesicki fell incomplete.
New England improved to 10–2, marking its longest winning run since 2015.
