
To encourage miniature artists, KALAVRITT is organizing an online “National Contemporary Miniature Illustration Camp” courtesy the Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy. The ancient traditional miniature art of Rajasthan (miniature art) which is almost slowly disappearing from the mainstream that is why 7 days camp will take place from 2 to 9 November online.
This camp is being organized in the memory of Dr. Sumahendra, the former Principal, Rajasthan School of Arts and Secretary, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi Kalaguru, the founder of the famous painter KALAVRITT of Rajasthan.
KALAVRITT president Sandeep Sumhendra said that contemporary illustration in this genre will give an opportunity to draw miniature art with encouragement and new thinking. Also some new artists will try to give dimension to this genre by their creation. The aim of KALAVRITT is to develop both miniature art and artist and to infuse new life into this traditional drawing art. “
Academy Secretary Dr. Rajneesh Harsh said that through this event, there is an attempt to bring the traditional art of the state in a contemporary form (depicting miniature technique) to the art world and art lovers with traditional painting techniques.
Only selected artists will be able to participate in this camp. For the selection of artists, a selection committee has been constituted of three senior artists of the state, by which the selection will be done after looking at the subject of the painting and the superiority of the illustration work. Shail Choyal, R.B. Goutam, Bhawanishankar Sharma will be the main selectors.
