The Madhya Pradesh government has taken immediate administrative action in connection with the Indore contaminated drinking water incident, underlining that public health will not be compromised under any circumstances.
Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the General Administration Department issued an order on Friday transferring four senior officers with immediate effect. The action reflects the state government’s firm stance on accountability and administrative responsibility in matters affecting citizens’ health.
As per the official order, Rohit Sirsania (2017 batch), who was serving as Additional Commissioner of the Indore Municipal Corporation, has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development.
Akash Singh (2019 batch), Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Khargone, Prakhar Singh (2020 batch), CEO of District Panchayat Alirajpur, and Ashish Kumar Pathak (2020 batch), Deputy Transport Commissioner, Indore, have all been appointed as Additional Commissioners of the Indore Municipal Corporation.
The government clarified that the transfers have been made with immediate effect and until further orders, signaling strict monitoring of civic administration in Indore following the incident.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reiterated that citizens’ health and safety remain the government’s top priority. He emphasized that responsibility will be fixed and stringent action will be taken against officials found negligent.
