Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Saturday interacted with National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets at the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 at Delhi Cantonment, describing them as a “living bridge between India’s glorious past and its bright future.”
Upon his arrival, the Minister was accorded a Guard of Honour by NCC cadets, followed by an impressive band performance by cadets from Scindia School, Gwalior.
Addressing officers and cadets, the Minister said Republic Day is not merely a national festival, but a tribute to the Constitution of India and the sacrifices of freedom fighters. Highlighting the role of NCC cadets, he said the Republic Day Camp reflects the discipline, commitment, leadership qualities, and unity of India’s youth.
Mr. Seth encouraged cadets to adopt indigenous thinking and indigenous products, citing the success of initiatives such as Startup India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the number of Indian startups has grown from around 800 to over 2 lakh in the last decade, demonstrating the strength of self-reliant India.
The Minister also lauded the achievements of NCC cadets in national integration and adventure activities. He praised 15 NCC cadets who participated in the Veer Birsa Munda Cyclothon, covering a distance of 1,300 kilometres from Ranchi to Delhi to promote national unity and the values of freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
Additionally, he commended 10 NCC cadets who successfully scaled Mount Everest in 2025, calling their achievement a symbol of courage, determination, and the rising potential of India’s youth.
