On the evening of December 5, 2024, Devendra Fadnavis took the oath as the 21st Chief Minister of Maharashtra in a grand ceremony at Azad Maidan, Mumbai. The event, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various dignitaries, was witnessed by thousands of people.
Alongside Fadnavis, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
To ensure security during the ceremony, over 4,000 police personnel were deployed. Traffic regulation was managed by an additional Commissioner of Police, along with three Deputy Commissioners, and a dedicated unit of 30 officers and 250 enforcers from the Mumbai Police.
Outgoing Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his full support for the newly appointed Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and collective decision-making.
