Love Without Boundaries (LWB) is an international charity that provides hope and healing to vulnerable children and underserved communities through its education, nutrition, medical, and foster care programs. LWB is excited to announce significant achievements from 2023 while commemorating its 20th anniversary.
LWB was founded on August 28, 2003 by Amy Eldridge, who now serves as the CEO, after she adopted her daughter, Anna, from Shantou, Guangdong, China. During the adoption process, Eldridge learned of the need for heart surgeries that could not be afforded at her daughter’s orphanage, and that some of the children in the orphanage would die if they did not receive these surgeries. To provide support to save these children’s lives, Eldridge returned home to the U.S. and raised the money necessary to fund the heart surgeries. As a result, the children’s lives were saved and LWB was established with the mission to provide hope and healing to children in need.
“It’s been incredible to see LWB grow into a global organization that has now helped more than 150,000 children,” said Amy Eldridge, CEO, LWB. “What I love the most about our model is that every project around the world is run by local people in their home countries. When we combine their passion to find solutions for their communities with the generosity of our wonderful donors, the results are truly remarkable.”
In 2023, while celebrating 20 years, LWB marked the following achievements that helped so many in need across the globe:

LWB is also commemorating its 20th anniversary with a new logo and website design. The new logo and website design support the organization as it grows and evolves over the next 20 years. LWB's new logo was designed by Tida Tep, a graphic artist in New York who is the daughter of LWB Board Member Pim Bhut. Pim fled the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia at age 14. She escaped violence and starvation by crossing into Thailand and living in a refugee camp for many years before moving to America. LWB is fortunate to have Pim's wisdom and help on the board and grateful to Tida for offering her talent and time, as well as enlisting the help of type designer Doug Hayes, to create a bright and modern look that will represent the organization into the future.

Looking into the near future, in addition to all other efforts, the organization has plans to expand its cardiac initiative to provide equity in care to even more children born with heart defects around the world. LWB is also proud to be a leader in implementing family-based care and continues to prioritize this for children as it is known that orphanage care can be detrimental to a child's well-being.
Oliver was born in 2016 with Down syndrome and a failing heart. His lips were a deep blue, and he often had severe breathing distress. Sadly, when his devoted parents searched for help, every hospital they visited turned Oliver down due to poverty. Our director in China happened upon Oliver’s mom crying in a hospital hallway one day, after yet another rejection. We knew we needed to do everything possible to keep this beautiful family together. Through our Unity Initiative, we sent Oliver to the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai, where he underwent a very complex heart repair when he was 18 months old. Because we love checking in with the children healed in our medical program, earlier this year we went to visit Oliver at home. Now 7 years old, this joy-filled little boy is the absolute light of his family. His adoring mom happily told us that Oliver is full of energy, now attending preschool and speaking in short sentences. The entire family expressed their gratitude once more to the LWB community for believing in Oliver and supporting his life-saving surgery.
