On 10th November 2023, Prof. Prof. Ishan Ahmed (BA.LLB) from Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies (Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi) visited Jamia Senior Secondary School (JSSS) with his students.
The event started with the recitation of Qur'an. After that, Dr, Arshad Khan, Principal, JSSS welcomed the speakers warmly and addressed the students. He advised students to listen to the lecture keenly as it will be of huge help to them in life. The audience comprised students from both senior section (Class 11 and 12th) as well as junior section (Class 9 and 10th). The lecture was also attended by the faculty of the school, such as Mr. Qutbuddin, Vice principal, JSSS, Dr. Ataur Rahman, PGT Chemistry and Ms. Shaneha Tarannum, Counsellor.
Prof. Ishan Ahamed addressed the audience and his eloquence captured the hearts of the students. He spoke about some really crucial and real things everyone has been dealing with. He led a very interactive and entertaining, yet extremely educational talk where students talked about their experiences and asked questions without hesitation. He spoke about data theft and laid emphasis on not providing our crucial details such as adhar card number , fingerprints etc anywhere without fully knowing what that information is for, and if the person asking for such details has the authority to demand them.
He woke the audience up for a rude reality where their details can be used by anyone. He also laid emphasis on scams happening with the help of artificial intelligence and how concerning it is for all of us. He shared tips on how one should stay away from being scammed, alertness being the first tip.
He also spoke about cyber bullying that takes place on social media platforms and how one can report them, or what legal actions one can take against such activities. When new kinds of crimes are rearing their ugly heads every other day, Law also needs to be updated. So he also talked most extensively about the Indian Legal system and how it has been changed and adapted to fit the needs of society.
Prof inshan Ahmed also talked about the Centre of Career, Counseling and Guidance of Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. He spoke about the good influence career counseling can have on the students and that they must visit the centre when they have time, or immediately after passing class 12. Prof. Ishan Ahmed and his students presented a poster of the CCCG, Jamia Hamdard to Dr. Arshad khan who most graciously received it and motivated the students to visit the centre.
The students accompanied by Prof. Ishan Ahmed also distributed a questionnaire which the students readily filled and returned.
The event ended with a vote of thanks.
