Jaipur, 26 November — The second day of the Khelo India University Games, held at Udaipur’s MB Sports Complex in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indoor Stadium, witnessed an impressive showcase of judo talent. Athletes delivered exceptional performances marked by advanced technique, precision, and sportsmanship.
On Wednesday, judo events were conducted in the men’s 73 kg and 81 kg weight categories.

The medal ceremony was presided over by Arjuna Awardee Akram Shah, Shambhu Soni (Secretary, Chandigarh Judo Association), UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, and District Sports Officer Mahesh Paliwal.
Several matches went down to the final seconds, with victories determined by a margin of just one point. Officials from the Sports Authority of India noted that participation from hundreds of athletes representing universities across the country has elevated the level of competition significantly. The athletes’ preparation, fitness, and discipline were widely praised.
Upcoming Events
Event in-charge and UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain informed that Thursday will mark the final day of judo events.
Starting Friday, 28 November, beach volleyball competitions will commence, followed by kayaking events at Fateh Sagar Lake from 2 December.

Gold medalist Sachin Kumar Singh from Uttar Pradesh said he was pleased with the world-class facilities and admired the beauty of Udaipur, which he had previously only heard about.
Hanumangarh athlete Manjeet encouraged youth to stay away from substance abuse and embrace sports for a better career and future.
